Prepare Fonts for Print

Modified on Mon, Jan 19 at 3:48 PM

Fonts need special treatment in your document. Why? We may not 'own' all the fonts you might use. To prevent any issues, follow the instructions below for the appropriate software you are using. Remember, after you outline or rasterize a font, you can no longer edit it, so this should be your final step before sending to print.

TIP: make a copy of all text layers and first, then hide that layer when sending to print. That way you can come back later and edit text if needed:Illustrator / InDesign: Select all text boxes in your file and choose: Type > Create OutlinesPhotoshop: Select all text boxes in your file and choose: Layer > Rasterize > Type
